Obituary of David Calvin Hoadley

David Calvin Hoadley was born to Calvin and Lillian Hoadley in Caldwell, Idaho on June 30, 1939. David was the oldest of four children, preceded in death by his father, Calvin and brother, Fred.

David graduated from Caldwell High School, and married Phyllis Ann on November 21,1959. They moved to Grandview for a short time where he worked for Triangle Dairy, then later returned to the family farm below lake Lowell. During winter months he worked as a potato inspector and later drove truck for Feller trucking. He then focused on farming while also starting a family, raising his son David Andrew and daughter Heather Ann. David became well known by bean seed producers in the area as the go to person when they needed advice on how to get the best results from their crops.

In 1982 David and Phyllis moved the family a short distance to Marsing, Idaho on the banks of the Snake River, and later added ground between Caldwell and Homedale on a farm homesteaded by Phyllis Ann’s grandmother.

David spent his fall and winter months hunting and snowmobiling, while the summer months were always the busiest. Farming and summer vacations were never two things that went well together, but for David the farm was where he was at peace. Even though he would never say it, being on the farm was like being on vacation.

David was an Elks member and also a member of several agricultural groups and boards as well.

David is survived by his Wife Phyllis Ann, Mother Lillian, Siblings Randy (Chris) and Christine (Ron) Weekes, Children David Andrew (Debbie) Hoadley, Heather (Greg) Hale, Grandchildren Tyler, Brandon (Karley) Holly and Hannah Hale, and Great Grandchild Ember Hoadley.
