Jose Estrada Jr.

Obituary of Jose Maria Estrada Jr.

José María Estrada Jr. was born on March 6, 1972 in Caldwell, ID and died on April 24, 2020. He passed away at age 48 in the Owyhee Mountains.

José always worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He grew up working on farms in the Nampa/Melba area. He developed a sincere love for the outdoors. He most recently worked 15 years with TMC Masonry as an Operator and was always proud of his work. He would continuously say he was busy, “building America…one brick at a time!” When he wasn’t working, he would often be found riding his dirt bike. Being in the mountains brought José peace and he felt nearest to Jehovah. José knew how to make dark times brighter, and anyone that knew him knows that he would not want us to be anxious over things out of our control. It’s no surprise that his favorite verse was... Philippians 4:6-7 “do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”

José had recently moved to Caldwell with his wife Irma, where they were just beginning a new life together. They loved each other deeply and were always seen laughing together. After watching José struggle in various trials of life for so long, his family was brought great joy by his genuine happiness. José’s life ended too soon, but was fortunately filled with adventures and good memories that his family will cherish until they meet again. Isaiah 25:8-9, “He will swallow up death forever; and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken it. In that day they will say: “Look! This is our God! We have hoped in him, and he will save us. This is Jehovah! We have hoped in him. Let us be joyful and rejoice in the salvation by him.”

José is preceded in death by his best friend Adan Lara whom he considered a brother. He is survived by his lovely wife Irma Estrada, his parents José María Sr. and Eglantina (Vikki) Estrada; siblings, Lorena (Jose) DeLeon, Manuela (Nellie) Estrada, Myrna (Steven) Prater, Sofia Estrada, David (Jennele) Estrada; children Seleste (Stephen) Diedrich, Victoria (Geovanny) Ponce, Adan Estrada; grandkids Kameron, Calissa, Caleb, Cole, Nayeli, Julian; and many dears friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who have hope to see him again one day with full assurance of peace and joy everlasting. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore, we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day. For though the tribulation is momentary and light, it works out for us a glory that is of more and more surpassing greatness and is everlasting; while we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting”.
