Obituary of Van Brown
Van Brown died in his home on October 9, 2020 in Caldwell, Idaho from natural causes at the age of 75.
Van, son of Bob and Barbara Brown, was born in San Francisco, California on March 14, 1945. He was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and Denver, Colorado and graduated from Denver High School. He attended college at University of Boulder and Idaho State University. Between universities, Van was drafted for military service but contracted a severe case of strep throat that temporarily paralyzed his arm and he was disqualified from enlisting.
Van married his wife, Teresa Brown, in 1984 in Pocatello, Idaho. When he married Teresa, he also became the father to two children, Melissa, age 4, and Chris, age 3. In 1986, Van and Teresa’s daughter, Breanna, was born. Van and Teresa lived with their children in Pocatello until they moved the family to Caldwell, Idaho in 1992.
Van was an extremely intelligent man who excelled in many fields. His chosen career was in computer programming, which he loved. When not at work, Van could be found in his favorite local café sharing coffee with friends or in the mountains camping or fishing. The Sawtooths and Yellowstone were among his favorite places to visit. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many activities.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Brown; his daughter, Melissa Delamere; son, Chris Kunz; daughter, Breanna Coombs (husband, Kyle); nine grandchildren, Bailey, Maddox, Eliana, Gracie, Elias, Ashlyn, Lucy, Brynlee, and Daxton; his mother, Barbara Brown; brother, Craig Brown(Louise); and sister, JoAnne Ragusa.
