Larry Bull

Obituary of Larry Dave Bull

Larry D. Bull, 83, of Caldwell passed away on Friday December 4th, 2020 after a courageous 30-day battle against Covid.

Larry was born November 3, 1937 in Twin Falls, ID. Larry grew up in Haskell, Oklahoma until the age of 7. The family lived at a farm outside of Jerome, moving to Glenns Ferry then on to Payette and ending up in Baker City due to his father’s transfer to the area. He graduated in 1955 from Baker High School. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the Army. After completion of his service he moved to Twin Falls where he met and married the love of his life, Karla, in March of 1960. That same year they started a family with the birth of their first daughter, Kathy, soon to follow David, Larry, Lajuana and then a few years later, Debbie.  He worked for several years at Sunset Memorial Park and began his career as a truck driver for Ida-Cal, out of Jerome. Continuing his career as a truck driver, he then moved to Caldwell in 1972. Larry retired from truck driving in 1988 to become co-owner of Karla’s Daycare, and then fully retiring in 2017.

Larry was dependent on his routines which included golfing and the daily cribbage games at Fairview Golf Course. Let us not forget his daily lunches and his two beers a day with his cherished friends at the Acapulco. He had a lifelong love for fishing and loved nothing more than river fishing in his boat. He loved talking all things sports and had an incredible talent for knowing all of the stats. Holidays always included scrabble and cribbage games, both of which could last all day and the tradition continued through generations and created amazing memories. If you ask anyone what they’ll remember most about him, it would be his good sense of humor and kind disposition.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife Karla and his son Larry Jr., as well as his father, mother, step mother and brother. He is survived by his brother Ken, sister Patti (Jim), and his children Kathy (Richard), Debbie (Brian), David (Randi) and Lajuana, grandchildren - Crystal, Jesse, Maddy, Witney, Lorenzo, Cole, Cory and Payn as well as seven great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Due to Covid there will be an outside memorial to be held in March or April 2021. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
