Obituary of Alfonso "Fonz" Hernandez
Alfonso Hernandez, 54, of Caldwell, passed away on the morning of May 17, 2021. He gained his wings in the presence of his mother, children, family and loved ones. A private viewing will be held for family members from 5-6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 25th at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell. The viewing and memorial service will be open to the public from 6-8:00 P.M.
Fonz was born on August 20, 1966 in Edinburg, Texas and was raised in Wilder, Idaho, where he became known for cruising the streets, reppin’ his Wildcat spirit, and listening to oldies with his brothers and sisters. The Fonz was notorious for his wild sense of humor, quest for adventure, never-ending wit, and magnetic charm, inspired by Elvis Presley. He never missed a moment to bust a move to a funky beat or quote the perfect line from a favorite movie. Nothing made him happier than a backroad drive or a good comedy with some KFC. He was the kind of guy to give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar. He stood up for those who needed a voice and put a smile on any face that needed one. Fonz always put family first.
Fonz was always there to brighten the darkest of days. Whether it was spending time with his kids, spoiling the grandkids on a trip to the market, or cracking open a beer with his carnales, he had the biggest smile anyone saw around. In case anyone forgot where he came from, he always threw up a “W” proudly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Catarino Hernandez, along with his brothers, Alejandro Hernandez and Abel Hernandez. He is survived by his mother, Dora Hernandez; his children: Fonzie Hernandez, Angelica (Alonzo) Delgado, Isac Hernandez, Hector Hernandez, and Mercades Hernandez; his three grandchildren; his siblings: Arnold (Terri), Alonzo (Laura), Meli (Will), Aleida (Vince), Elia (Claudio), Catarino Jr., Elodia (Zaul), Abel (Laura), Abelardo, Freddy (Christine), and Emily (Julian); 40 nieces and nephews, and many friends and family.
We love you, Fonz. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
