Maria Marta De Luna
With sadness Maria passed away on August 31, 2023 peacefully at St. Alphonsus hospital in Nampa, Idaho. She had a short battle with leukemia.
Maria was born on January 8th 1953 to Isidoro and Eliza Garcia in McAllen, Texas. She went to school in Caldwell and eventually earned her GED in 1983. She was very witty and sharp. Always speaking her mind and cracking jokes.
In 1972 at the age of 19, Maria, married Arturo De Luna in Caldwell, Idaho. Shortly after that they moved to Moses Lake, Washington.
Maria was blessed with four sons. Raul De Luna, Rene De Luna, Ruben De Luna, and Michael Ray Garcia. Two granddaughters, and one great grandson.
Along with her kids Maria leaves behind her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Joe and Aida Garcia, Juan and Hortencia Garcia, Guadalupe Garcia, Margarita Ramirez, Joel and Silvia Garcia, and Norma Linda and Rogelio Pecina.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Isidoro and Eliza Garcia, brothers Lupito Garcia and Xavier Garcia, Niece Sylvia Garcia, Nephew Jamie Pesina.
When Maria moved back to Idaho in 1991 she had various jobs – the last ones being The Cheese Factory for 25 years and at the same time for Pizza Hut for 12 years.
Some of her favorite hobbies included walking the green belt with her mom and brothers, going to dances and listening to all kinds of music, Spanish being her favorite.
Visitation will be at Flahiff Funeral Chapel Wednesday September 6, 2023 from 5-8pm. Funeral Service will be September 7, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley at 10:00am. Burial Service will be September 7, 2023 11:00am Canyon Hill Cemetery.
