Obituary of Maria Guadalupe Castellanos Siordia

Always present in our heart.

María Guadalupe Castellanos Siordia 06/01/1941 – 09/01/2023.

 María is survived by her sons/daughters Gabriela Guevara (Noe – Jessica, Diana and Sheila), Patricia Contreras (Gustavo), Gloria Almaraz (Genaro – Vanesa, Ana, Genaro Jr., Fabian, Salvador and Aracely), Carlos Castellanos (Maria), Jorge Castellanos (- Jr., Daniel, Lupita, Gabriel, Angel, Matia and Isaiah), Martin Castellanos (Cinthia – Merari, Martin, Saidy and Rosy), Laura Zavala (Chava – Noely, Miguel and Jazmine), Jose Castellanos (Josie – Niomi, Joey and Samuel), Francisco Castellanos (Juanita – Franky, Alli, Julián, Natalia, Giselle and Sebastián), Claudia ( - Xavier), Fernando Castellanos (Celene – Destiny and Laylani).

Our mother was a strong, friendly, persistent, and hardworking person. She worked in everything she could to get her family ahead. Because of her efforts and persistence, she achieved what many people just dreamed of. She came to work as a waitress, seamstress, sold merchandise/food, owned her restaurant, worked in farms, warehouses and everything she could find to get her family ahead.  Since we were kids, we all had to work because that is the example, she set for us.  We worked selling chickens, as porters, in sewing factories, selling oranges, peanuts, ranchers and in what she could find work in for us. Lupe, as many know her, has overcome even the most difficult times but nothing, as far as we can remember, made her give up. She always found a way to get ahead and taught her children that everything is possible if we work hard and find a way. She didn't just teach us to get ahead, but also to be humble and always reach out to those in need. In her home she always had food and always had guests. She always extended a helping hand to help anyone, even if she was left with nothing. Our mother's pride was in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For all of us she worked, cried, fought, achieved, laughed and, above all, lived a humble but very happy life. It was an honor for us to have such a person in our lives. We thank God for the time He gave us with her, for the example she left us, and for the moments we will carry in our hearts for the rest of our lives. May our Lupita rest in peace.

María fue sobrevivida por sus hijos/hijas Gabriela Guevara (Noe – Jessica, Diana y Sheila), Patricia Contreras (Gustavo), Gloria Almaraz (Genaro – Vanesa, Ana, Genaro Jr., Fabian, Salvador y Aracely), Carlos Castellanos (María), Jorge Castellanos ( - Jr., Daniel, Lupita, Gabriel, Ángel, Matia y Isaiah), Martin Castellanos (Cinthia – Merari, Martin, Saidy y Rosy), Laura Zavala (Chava – Noely, Miguel y Jazmine), Jose Castellanos (Josie – Niomi, Joey y Samuel), Francisco Castellanos (Juanita – Franky, Alli, Julián, Natalia, Giselle y Sebastián), Claudia ( - Xavier), Fernando Castellanos (Celene – Destiny y Laylani).

Nuestra madre fue una persona fuerte, amigable, persistente y trabajadora.  Trabajo en todo lo que pudo para sacar a su familia adelante.  Por sus esfuerzos y su persistencia, logro lo que muchas personas nomas soñamos.  Llego a trabajar de mesera, costurera, vendedora de ropa/comida, tubo su restauran, trabajo en los campos, bodegas y en todo lo que pudo encontrar para sacar a su familia adelante y eso nos inculco.  Desde chicos, a todos nos tocó trabajar vendiendo pollos, de cargadores, en fábricas de costura, vendiendo naranjas, cacahuates, de rancheros y en lo que nos pudo encontrar trabajo. Lupe, como la conocemos, ha sobrepasado hasta los más difíciles tiempos, pero nada, en lo que podemos recordar, la hiso darse por vencida.  Siempre encontró la manera de salir adelante y ensenarle a sus hijos que todo es posible si trabajamos duro y le buscamos la manera.  No nomas nos enseno a salir adelante, pero también a ser humildes y siempre extender la mano al que la necesite.  En su casa siempre avía comida y siempre avía invitados.  Nunca le rechazo ayuda a nadie, aunque se quedara sin nada ella.  El orgullo de nuestra madre fuimos sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.  Por todos nosotros ella trabajo, lloro, peleo, logro, se rio y, ante todo, vivió su vida humilde pero muy feliz.  Fue un honor para nosotros tener tal persona en nuestras vidas.  Le damos las gracias a dios por el tiempo que nos dio con ella, por el ejemplo que nos dejó y por los momentos que cargaremos en nuestro corazón el resto de nuestras vidas.  Que descanse en paz nuestra Lupita.
