Obituary of Patricia Lee Torrey

Patricia Lee Torrey passed away on September 4, 2023 at her home in Wilder, Idaho with her loving husband by her side. She was born to Selma & Lee Foster on December 28, 1943 in Boise, Idaho.  She was raised by Slema and Art Pierce.

Patricia found love and married Edwin Torrey on June 11, 1960 in Nevada.  They had their first daughter Joye Faye on September 14, 1961 and later their son Edwin Michael on February 20, 1965.  Pat and Ed raised their family in Caldwell, Idaho until 1974 when they bought a beautiful piece of property and campground in Wilder, Idaho on the Snake River.  Pat ran the campground while Ed started a plumbing business – which Pat also took care of the books.

On August 4, 1983 Pat’s first and only granddaughter Jennifer Lee was born, whom she helped raise. In the early years Patricia enjoyed hunting and fishing with Ed and later enjoyed traveling abroad including Thailand and Europe.  She also spent time camping with her family.  Pat was part of many social groups including the Red Hat Ladies, TSO club and Caldwell Ramblers.  On June 7, 2002 Pat’s first great-grandson, Bradlee was born and on February 20, 2006 another, Rylee, followed.  Both the boys spent weekends with Pat and Ed and they help raise them as well.

Patricia is survived by her husband Ed, brother Michael (Lilian) Pierce, daughter Joye Torrey, son Edwin (Judy) Torrey, granddaughter Jennifer (Daron) De La Rosa Porter, and great-grandsons Bradlee De La Rosa and Rylee Porter.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Wilder Fire Department. (
