Obituary of Kearney Thomas Archer

Kearney Thomas Archer passed away on September 6th, 2023 in his childhood home surrounded by loved ones. Kearney was born March 31, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado to Clyde and Silva Archer. He attended Knowlton Heights School on the outskirts of Marsing up until the 8th grade and did his freshman year at Marsing High School. Between his freshman and sophomore year, his father was in a farming accident which landed him in the hospital for 6 months, leaving Kearney to take over the family farm. Kearney married Marcella Smith in October of 1959. They knew of each other for a while before they officially started dating in the spring of 1959. They had 7 children: Tena (Mark), Tom (Karrin), West (Julie), Wendell (Teresa), Coreena (Jon), Chad (Berenice), Arless (Amy) and bonus daughter Marla. 23 grandchildren: Joel (Alice), Marena (Bryant), Jeremiah, Amanda (Rob), Stephanie (Jeremy), Danielle, Ciera (Dallis), Jenna (Chad), Shelby, JaNae, Cole, Courtney, Sydnie, Bailey, Aiden, Brody, Chloe, Mason, Nolan, Daisy, Ethan, Laela and Bella. 17 great-grandchildren, and ONE great-great grandson. Kearney is survived by his wife Marcella, 2 sisters (Sylvia and Evelyn of Utah) and all of his descendants. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Clyde Jr., Delbert and Kenneth. Graveside services will be held October 7th, 2023 at 2 pm at the Marsing/Homedale Cemetery.
